Back in 1985, when the Nintendo Entertainment System, better known as NES, was released outside of Japan, video gaming was changed forever. Sure, compared to modern consoles, the 8-bit graphics look outdated, but back then, gameplay actually mattered. ;) And let's not forget that the NES turned many of us nerds into gamers to begin with!
If you are amongst the lucky ones who still have some original NES game cartridges stowed away, but your console broke or was sold at a yard sale for a fraction of its worth, you are in luck: The Hyperkin RetroN 1 HD will allow you to bring your childhood back to life - in HD!
This small console is compatible with original NES cartridges in both NTSC and PAL and scales the image up to 720p, allowing Mario and Co. to look crisper than ever! The RetroN 1 HD can be connected to your screen via an HDMI cable or the trusty AV cable (both included) and you can even switch between an aspect ratio of 4:3 or 16:9 with the flick of a switch. The power supply has been brought up to modern standards, as well: A micro USB cable with a power adaptor will keep your machine running.
The bundle is completed by, how could it be any other way, a controller. The classic NES design and the three-metre-long cable will make you feel right at home on your sofa without needing to crouch down in front of the TV. Now we only need to agree on whether blowing into the cartridges actually helped or not...
